Thank you very much for your Christmas greetings and your kind wishes for the new year.

We are entering a new year that will bring important changes. In just a few weeks, voters in

Germany will decide on the future course of our country. Many tasks await us: Germany must

invest in its future, invigorate its economy and reinforce its security both at home and abroad.

In addition, we have been shocked by horrific attacks like those that occurred in Magdeburg

and New Orleans. This means that we must stand together more resolutely than ever. These

isolated incidents must not shake our steadfast conviction that our societies and our democracies

flourish on the basis of solidarity, mutual respect, dialogue, diversity and individual initiative.

We must keep ali of these values in mmd as we work to build a better future. In this spirit, let

us enter the new year confidently, and with a firm determination to take effective action.

To this end, 1 wish you much success, the best of health, and personal good fortune in 2025,

and 1 look forward very much to the next time we meet.
