Mr. Maarjo Mändmaa Chancellor Secretary General's area of responsibility Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Estonia
Dear Sir,
I have the pleasure to invite you to a meeting reviewing the activity of the MEDEVAC HUB Jasionka to date. The meeting will be held on February 27 in Rzeszow-Jasionka, Poland.
In September 2022, the MEDEVAC HUB Jasionka was launched on the initiative of the Ukrainian and Polish Ministries of Health. Within the framework of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, the Polish Center for International Aid as the Emergency Medical Team, operates the Hub that receives patients from Ukraine, who are then referred to other European countries for treatment. Since then the MEDEVAC HUB Jasionka has been a key coordination center for international medical evacuation.
Given the rapidly evolving international landscape and the growing number of crises and conflicts worldwide, there is a risk that public attention may gradually shift away from the commitment to help people from Ukraine in need. In order to address this issue, we would like to organize a meeting with your participation, along with a roundtable discussion for medical evacuation experts from across Europe.
The key topics we would like to discuss together include: - Experience to date and the scale of international support - Medical transport (in particular the possibility of providing medical air transport) - Profiles of treated patients, condition of patients, accuracy of medical records, fight
against multidrug-resistant bacteria - Medical Hubs (other countries experience, legal aspects of medical hubs) - Repatriation of patients to their country of origin at the end of treatment and the
future of the hub.
The discussion will be held in English. We would appreciate the participation of experts experienced in the above proposed areas. Preferred delegation format is 1 head (ministerial level) + 2 experts.
The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss the activities carried out so far at the MEDEVAC Hub in Jasionka and to reflect on its future. Our common goal is to secure

permanent European funding for the hub and to encourage other foreign partners to support this initiative.
The participation of experts from different countries will provide a fresh perspective on possible problems and a creative search for solutions.
I sincerely hope that you will accept my invitation and together we will be able to show the world what the power of solidarity in health is all about.
Yours sincerely,
Katarzyna Kacperczyk Undersecretary of State /digitally signed/
