navinfo@transpordiamet.ee at least one week before commencing the actual research
activities;
5. if there are changes in the research schedule, location, or any other circumstances that concern
maritime safety, the Estonian Transport Administration must be notified immediately via
email at navinfo@transpordiamet.ee;
6. it is prohibited to trawl on underwater monuments (Heritage Conservation Act § 52 section
6);
6.2. in case trawling is planned in the buffer zone of an underwater monument, the National
Heritage Board shall be notified at least 10 days in advance (Heritage Conservation Act § 58
section 3 article 4, § 59);
6.3. it is prohibited to trawl at the site of a localized shipwreck (Heritage Conservation Act § 25
section 2). The locations of historical wrecks need to be verified before implementing any
activities. The locations can be verified on the Hydrographic Information System of the
Estonian Transport Administration. More information about underwater monuments and their
buffer zones is available on the Na-tional Registry of Cultural Monuments
(https://register.muinas.ee/), which has a cross-use func-tion with the Land Board's cultural
heritage map application (https://xgis.maaamet.ee/xgis2/page/app/kultuurimalestised):
7. research activities must remain inside the agreed research area;
8. the navigator of the research vessel must keep a radio watch on the GOFREP or VTS working
channel (61, 60, or 13, depending on the area) and channel 16;
8.1. activities must also be coordinated with the Finnish VTS/GOFREP centre when operating in
the Finnish GOFREP area;
a. please specify the dates for the use of area B30 as accurately as possible, due to another
marine research taking place during the same time and area with a research vessel named
ARANDA. The overlapping areas are depicted in annex “Kattuvad alad, Overlapping
areas”;
8.1. the exact time and location of the activities, as well as any other relevant information needed
to ensure maritime safety, must be coordinated with the VTS/GOFREP operator on the
relevant VHF working channel in a timely manner;
9. anchoring is prohibited closer than 1,5 NM to underwater cables and pipelines;
10. trawling is prohibited closer than 0,5 NM to underwater cables and pipelines.

2. Overlapping areas.
In accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, issuing of this Marine Research Permit
and Entry Clearance may be filed in Administrative Court within 30 days after the issuance of
the Permit.
