19 January 2023 Command Senior Enlisted Leader CSM Enn Adoson Estonian Defense Force Dear CSM Adoson, On behalf of the Commander for Maryland Army National Guard, BG Andrew W. Collins, I formally invite you to send a team to participate as cadre/instructors for the Regional Competition for the TY 2024 Best Warrior Competition (R2BWC24). The competition is comprised of the Region 2 Non-commissioned Officers and Soldiers who win their respective state competitions. Officers do not advance past the state competition. The Region 2 states are Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. The competition dates are 6-10 May 2024. Ideally, your cadre would arrive NLT 4 May and depart NET the evening of 10 May. I recommend travel to/from Washington Dulles – IAD Airport. My team will provide transportation throughout the duration of your stay. All billeting is provided (barrack). Your participation for this year’s competition is a departure from previous years. This year the focus is NCO development. I would like your team of four to five NCOs to develop a competition lane that incorporates traditions, tactics or something unique to your country. I have your task listed as a mystery task. This allows your team the flexibility to develop an imaginative and unique competition event. We have also identified units that will support your lane with necessary resources and additional manpower as required. The MDARNG is hosting the National Best Warrior Competition in 2025. Upon conclusion of the regional competition, I would like to discuss your team’s role (Competitor or Cadre). That competition is conducted in the late July to early August time frame.
