Antimicrobial Stewardship in Primary Care: A Workshop to build a Unified Approach in Europe
The venue
The Hotel Melia Serrano is situated in a privileged location in Madrid’s Salamanca
district, situated next to the well-known Calle Serrano Street.
The hotel has many metro stations nearby. It is well connected with the city centre, which
is a 10-minute metro ride away via Rubén Darío Metro Station, 200 metres away. It also
has easy access to the A-2 and M-30 Motorway.

How to get to the venue
- From the airport Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport (MAD):
By Metro (Fastest and Cheapest Option)
Take Metro Line 8 from the airport (Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 or Aeropuerto T4) to Nuevos
Ministerios station.
Transfer to Metro Line 10 towards Puerta del Sur and get off at Gregorio Marañón
station.
Walk about 10 minutes to the hotel.

Purpose of the Workshop:
In the context of the European Joint Action on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare- Associated Infections 2 (EU-JAMRAI 2), Work Package 6 task 1 (WP6.1) addresses Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) in human health. The WS will constitute a further step to develop a common framework on core elements and core competencies for primary care ASP in European countries to make Europe a best practice region. The WS will include interactive sessions such as group discussions and expert dialogue and insights. This approach will ensure well-rounded and effective discussions, allowing each participant to contribute meaningfully to the topics addressed. Active participation is highly recommended as it will significantly contribute to the quality and depth of the discussions and the conclusions.

Please be aware that according to the Grant Agreement, travel and hotel costs are to be covered by the countries themselves. Antimicrobial Stewardship in Primary Care: A Workshop to build a Unified Approach in Europe
The venue
The Hotel Melia Serrano is situated in a privileged location in Madrid’s Salamanca
district, situated next to the well-known Calle Serrano Street.
The hotel has many metro stations nearby. It is well connected with the city centre, which
is a 10-minute metro ride away via Rubén Darío Metro Station, 200 metres away. It also
has easy access to the A-2 and M-30 Motorway.

How to get to the venue
- From the airport Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport (MAD):
By Metro (Fastest and Cheapest Option)
Take Metro Line 8 from the airport (Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 or Aeropuerto T4) to Nuevos
Ministerios station.
Transfer to Metro Line 10 towards Puerta del Sur and get off at Gregorio Marañón
station.
Walk about 10 minutes to the hotel.

Official taxis are available at the airport terminals.

From Cibeles, take Bus Line 1 (towards Cristo Rey) and get off at Rubén Darío.

From Rubén Darío, the hotel is about a 5-minute walk.
By Bus:
Go to the nearest bus stop and take Bus Line 19 towards Plaza de Cataluña.
Get off at Serrano - Diego de León, which is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel.
• From Chamartín-Clara Campoamor Railway Station to Meliá Madrid
Serrano:
By Metro:
Take Line 10 (Dark Blue) towards Puerta del Sur and travel to Gregorio Marañón
station.
From Gregorio Marañón, the hotel is about a 5-minute walk.
By Bus:
Exit the station and take Bus Line 14 towards Conde de Casal.
