with this letter I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for inviting me and my wife Katja to Tallinn.

Thank you for the program you had prepared for us. It was absolutely outstanding and not only very well thought through but also immensly flexibel. The different perspectives and impressions that I was able to obtain were extremely valuable.

I am grateful that I had the opportunity to speak with your Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Mr Kusti Salm and your Chief of the Estonian Defence Forces General Martin Herem. Also the visits of the Cooperative Cyber Defence Center of Excellence and the 1st Infantry Brigade with the tour of Tapa Camp were very insightful.

It was great that I also had the opportunity to experience and learn a little bit more about your lovely country and its long history.

Thank you for not only organizing a very comprehensive program for myself but also a partner program for Katja. We truly enjoyed the time very much.

I would also like to thank your staff for the organisation and especially your Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade Colonel Andrus Merila as well as Lieutenant Colonel Liis Kannel and Lieutenant Colonel (ret) Toomas Uustal for their continuous presence and attentiveness. My wife and I felt well taken care of and protected at all times.

Please deliver Katja's and my best wishes and greetings to your staff.

I am looking forward to working with you concerning the implementation of the plans and the defence of the Alliance.
