Réunion du conseil d’administration du Réseau des Présidents des Cours suprêmes judiciaires de l’Union européenne

La Cour suprême d’Estonie a le plaisir de partager les informations pratiques suivantes sur l’organisation de la réunion du conseil d’administration du 21 au 23 mai 2025 à Tartu, Estonie.

1. TRANSPORT

La Cour suprême d’Estonie assurera le transport des participants arrivant à l’aéroport de Tartu ou de Tallinn jusqu’à leur lieu d’hébergement (Hôtel Antonius et Hôtel Lydia). Le transfert de l’aéroport de Tartu au centre-ville de Tartu dure environ 20 minutes et celui de l’aéroport de Tallinn au centre-ville de Tartu environ 2 heures. Il est donc conseillé d’arriver à l’aéroport de Tartu dans la mesure du possible. L’aéroport de Tartu est un aéroport compact uniquement desservi par la compagnie aérienne Finnair.

Un représentant de la Cour suprême et un chauffeur vous accueilleront à votre arrivée à l’aéroport de Tartu ou de Tallinn.

Le transport depuis et vers l’aéroport sera assuré en fonction des informations de vol mentionnées dans le formulaire d’inscription. Malheureusement, il n’y a pas d’options de vol optimales au départ de l’aéroport de Tartu le vendredi 23 mai. Pour le départ, nous recommandons donc de consulter les vols au départ de l’aéroport de Tallinn

2. L’HÉBERGEMENT

Les participants sont invités à organiser leur hébergement à Tartu. La Cour suprême d’Estonie a préréservé des chambres dans les hôtels suivants, situés à proximité de la Cour :

La réunion du conseil d’administration aura lieu le jeudi 22 mai 2025 à la Cour suprême d’Estonie (Lossi 17, 50093 Tartu) dans la salle de réunion « Valge Saal ».

Un représentant de la Cour suprême vous accueillera dans le hall de l’hôtel à 9h00 pour vous accompagner à la Cour suprême.

4. LANGUE DE LA RÉUNION

La réunion du conseil d’administration se tiendra en anglais.

5. REPAS

La Cour suprême d’Estonie prendra en charge les frais de tous les repas et le programme culturel pour tous les participants à la réunion.

6. CODE VESTIMENTAIRE

Le code vestimentaire pour la réunion du conseil d’administration est la tenue de ville.

Le code vestimentaire pour les événements culturels est décontracté. Comme plusieurs activités se dérouleront en plein air, nous vous recommandons de porter une veste chaude et des chaussures confortables.

7. PROGRAMME CULTUREL

Un programme culturel varié est organisé par la Cour suprême d’Estonie.

Après la réunion officielle du conseil d’administration, le 22 mai 2025, une excursion en bateau sur l’Emajõgi avec une péniche historique est organisée. En cas de mauvais temps, vous serez invités à visiter le Musée national estonien, qui est un lieu fascinant tant sur le plan architectural qu’en termes d’expositions. Cette visite sera suivie d’une courte excursion au domaine viticole de Murimäe, situé près de Tartu, où vous pourrez dîner et déguster des vins produits localement.

Le 23 mai 2025, la journée commence par un trajet vers la ville frontalière de Narva en empruntant la route de l’oignon, riche en histoire et en culture, qui longe les rives du lac Peïpous. Plusieurs arrêts sont prévus pour découvrir les traditions et les coutumes des Vieux Croyants, un groupe religieux qui s’est séparé de l’Église orthodoxe russe au XVIIe siècle et

dont l’empreinte est encore visible sur les rives du lac Peïpous. A Narva, une visite du musée de Narva est proposée pour favoriser une discussion sur les réalités géopolitiques actuelles. Les discussions se poursuivront au cours du déjeuner, auquel participera M. Tarvo Kruup, chef de la Préfecture de police et des gardes-frontières pour l’Est de l’Estonie, qui partagera son expérience sur ce que signifie et implique la vie dans une ville frontalière. Meeting of the Board of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union

21–23 May 2025 Tartu, Estonia

The Supreme Court of Estonia is pleased to share the following practical information on the organisation of the Meeting of the Board from 21 to 23 May 2025 in Tartu, Estonia.

1. TRANSPORTATION

The Supreme Court of Estonia will provide transport to the accommodation (Hotel Antonius and Lydia Hotel) for the participants arriving at Tartu or Tallinn Airport. Transfer from Tartu Airport to Tartu city centre is approximately a 20-minute drive and from Tallinn Airport to Tartu city centre approximately a 2-hour drive. Therefore, if possible, arrival to Tartu Airport is advisable. Tartu Airport is a compact airport with Finnair as its sole operating airline.

A representative from the Supreme Court and a driver will meet you on arrival at Tartu or Tallinn Airport.

The transport from and to the airport will be secured according to the flight information mentioned in the registration form. Unfortunately, there are no optimal flight options from Tartu Airport on Friday, 23 May, so for departure we recommend checking flights from Tallinn Airport.

2. ACCOMMODATION

Guests are kindly invited to organise their accommodation in Tartu. The Supreme Court of Estonia has pre-booked rooms at the following hotels, which are in close vicinity to the Court:

The Board Meeting will take place on Thursday, 22 May 2025 at the Supreme Court of Estonia (Lossi 17, 50093 Tartu) at the meeting room “Valge Saal”.

A representative of the Supreme Court will meet you at the hotel lobby at 9.00 am to walk with you to the Supreme Court.

4. MEETING LANGUAGE

The Board Meeting will be held in English.

5. MEALS

The Supreme Court of Estonia will cover the costs of all meals and the cultural programme for all participants of the meeting.

6. DRESS CODE

The dress code for the Meeting of the Board is business attire.

The dress code for the cultural events is casual. As several activities will take place outdoors, we kindly recommend wearing a warm jacket and comfortable footwear.

7. CULTURAL PROGRAMME

A diverse cultural programme is being organised by the Supreme Court of Estonia.

After the official Meeting of the Board on 22 May 2025, a boat trip on Emajõgi with a historic barge is being organised. Alternatively, in case of bad weather, you are invited to visit the Estonian National Museum, which is a fascinating venue both architecturally and in terms of its exhibitions. This will be followed by a short trip to the Murimäe Winery, located near Tartu, where you can enjoy dinner and have a taste of locally produced wines.

On 23 May 2025, the day starts with a drive to the border town of Narva through historically and culturally rich Onion Route, which runs along the shores of Lake Peipus. Several stops are planned to get an insight into the traditions and customs of the Old Believers, a religious group that separated from the Russian Orthodox Church in the 17th century, whose footprint is still visible in the shore of Lake Peipus. In Narva, a visit to the Narva Museum is proposed to encourage a discussion on current geopolitical realities. The discussions will follow during the

lunch, which will be joined by the Mr Tarvo Kruup, Head of the East Prefecture of the Police and Boarder Guard Board, who will share his experience and insights of what life in a border town means and entails. It is my great honour to invite you to our upcoming Meeting of the Board of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union, which will take place from 21 to 23 May 2025 in Tartu, Estonia. In addition to our substantive discussions during the meeting, I would like to propose a diverse cultural programme to make your visit both meaningful and memorable.

The programme of the Meeting of the Board begins on 2l May, as I look forward to welcoming you to a reception and welcome dinner in Tartu.

The following day, on22 May the official Meeting of the Board will take place at the premises of the Supreme Court of Estonia. This provides me with the opportunity to introduce you to some of my colleagues and give you a tour of the building, as some of you may not have had the chance to visit us yet.

After the official meeting, I would be delighted if you could join me for a scenic boat trip on the Emajõgi River, which flows through the heart of Tartu. In the evening, I propose a short trip to the Murimäe Winery, located near Tartu, where we can enjoy dinner and have a taste of locally produced wines.

For May 23'd,I have planned a different kind of cultural experience that will encourage us to reflect on current geopolitical realities and have a chance to connect in a more informal setting. We will visit the border town of Narva and its museum, located on the bank of the Narva River, the natural border between Estonia and Russia. I have kindly asked the Head of the East Prefecture of the Police and Boarder Guard Board to share his experience and insights of what life in a border town currently means and entails. On our way to Narva, we will make several stops along the historically and culturally rich Onion Route, which runs along the shores of Lake Peipus. This region still preserves the traditions and customs of the Old Believers, a religious group that separated from the Russian Orthodox Church in the lTth century. We will conclude the cultural programme with a lunch, after which a transfer will take you to the airport.

I sincerely hope that this programme will provide a diverse and engaging experience for you, as I am appreciative of your effort in undertaking this long journey and finding time in your busy schedule to be here.
