Regarding potential collaboration
The State Institution «Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine»
(hereinafter referred to as the PHC) extends its respect and addresses the following.
PHC serves as the main institution of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in public
health. Its core activities include combating infectious and non-communicable
diseases, providing biological protection and safety, promoting immunoprophylaxis,
conducting laboratory diagnostics of infectious diseases, and addressing the hygienic
and microbiological aspects of human health in relation to the environment.
Furthermore, the PHC is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the
International Health Regulations and responding to public health emergencies.
In addition, the PHC is a beneficiary of the EU4H-2023-DGA-MS-IBA-01 –
direct grant to Member States' authorities: improving and strengthening national
surveillance systems (Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on
serious cross-border threats to health and repealing Decision No. 1082/2013/EU271)
(CP-g-23-01). As part of this grant, the PHC is committed to enhancing and
strengthening national surveillance systems and fostering collaboration with other
beneficiaries and partners engaged in epidemiological surveillance of communicable
diseases, as well as public health preparedness and response activities.
The PHC's project, titled MISUPH, focuses on introducing an innovative
electronic data collection tool – Electronic Surveillance System (ESS), advancing the
surveillance of parasitic diseases and updating the monitoring protocols for sexually
transmitted infections, thereby facilitating early detection and reducing the overall
disease burden. The central to our approach is integrating the One Health perspective,
which ensures a holistic understanding of health by encompassing human, animal, and
environmental interactions.
