Dear Madam,
Following the news of your departure as Minister of Health of Estonia, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for our fruitful collaboration.
Under your leadership, Estonia has advanced numerous important priorities, including strengthening primary health care, mental health, emergency preparedness, nutrition, and alcohol and tobacco policy, to name just a few. The adoption of action plans on primary health care, mental health, suicide prevention and antimicrobial resistance has further positioned Estonia for success in implementing the first and second European Programme of Work and the Sustainable Development Goals.
We especially appreciated the opportunity to organize the Tallinn Charter 15th Anniversary Health Systems Conference, Trust and transformation: resilient and sustainable health systems for the future together with you and your team. Our warmest thanks for your thoughtfulness, openness, resilience and unwavering commitment to international cooperation and coordination in the field of health. We deeply value your trust in WHO and your strong support for the implementation of our recommendations.
I personally cherish your willingness to work together and will fondly remember the moments we shared during my first visit to Estonia as WHO Regional Director for Europe in September last year.
In closing, I wish you every success in your future endeavours and sincerely hope our paths will cross again.
Yours very truly,
Dr Hans Henri P. Kluge Regional Director
