Emne: Save the date - NB6 and Ireland Health Summit in Copenhagen on 26 May 2025
Dear colleagues at the Ministry of Social Affairs,
The Minister for the Interior and Health of Denmark is planning to host a Nordic Baltic Health Summit on 26 May 2025 in Copenhagen. As part of the preparation for the Danish presidency of the Council in 2025, the Ministry of the Interior and Health of Denmark intends to use the Summit to gain a better understanding of the current political climate, explore shared perspectives, exchange experiences and address important issues such as the pharmaceutical package.
We are reaching out now to provide an opportunity to reserve the date. An official invitation to the Summit will be extended to your Minister of Health HE Ms. Riina Sikkut within the coming weeks.
We look forward to engaging in constructive dialogue on the future direction of EU health policy and the current geopolitical challenges affecting the European Union.
For any inquiries regarding the Health Summit, please do not hesitate to reach out. Questions and inquiries can be directed to Frances O’Donovan at [email protected].
Best regards,
Siri

HOW WE PROCESS PERSONAL INFORMATION
Dear Minister Karmen Joller,
Denmark’s upcoming EU Presidency will take place at a time when Europe is facing
unprecedented challenges in an uncertain geopolitical landscape. The political
situation can affect patients and our ability to provide the best possible healthcare
for our citizens by threatening Europe’s supplies of critical medicines and our access
to innovative treatments and medical devices. We have to act decisively and work
even more closely together if we are to find common solutions that will address the
many challenges we are facing in European health policy.
Denmark will take over the reins of the Presidency of the EU Council on 1 July 2025.
As part of our preparations for the Presidency I would like to invite you to participate
in a Nordic-Baltic Health Summit together with some of our closest neighbours and
allies to exchange ideas and perspectives on EU health policy and how we can
address the pressing political challenges we face.
The Nordic Baltic Health Summit will take place in Copenhagen on 26 May 2025. Your
ministry has already received a save-the-date.
The summit will begin at 09.00 CET and finish at 12.30 CET. The day will start with a
high-level roundtable discussion with participation from regional stakeholders. After
this Gentofte Hospital will introduce the ministers to their ground-breaking work
using virtual reality in mental health therapy. The ministers will be able to try the
virtual reality equipment themselves as part of the demonstration. Finally, I will host
a ministers’ lunch where we can have an informal political discussion on relevant
political issues. There will be no agenda, but I will present a short introduction to our
expectations for our Presidency to set the scene for our discussion.
Please let us know at your earliest convenience if you will be able to attend. We will
reach out to your Ministry with further information on the program and logistics
closer to the time.
Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate
to contact [email protected]
We would be honoured to have your presence and participation at the Nordic Baltic
Health Summit
Yours sincerely,
Sophie Løhde
