Dear Prosecutor General Asi,

On behalf of Eurojust, I have the great pleasure of congratulating you as Estonia’s new Prosecutor

General. I have no doubt that your professional background and wide expertise will be instrumental in

steering the prosecution service forward.

As the EU Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation, Eurojust sits at the heart of cross-border judicial

collaboration within the European Union as well as with partners beyond. Our mission is to help close

the security chain and to see across international jurisdictions that law enforcement work can lead to

judicial results by having criminals convicted and assets frozen or recovered. In this crucial work, I am

grateful for the expertise and commitment of the Estonian Desk at Eurojust, headed by Ms Piret

Paukštys.

To elaborate more on our operational work – including on our role in the European Union’s judicial

response to the war in Ukraine in which Estonia’s contributions have been so important – I would be

honoured to welcome and host you on a working visit to Eurojust. Should you kindly accept, please note
