Dear Colleagues,
The Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting is pleased to invite you to our regular monthly "Diplomatic Briefing," where IER experts share their insights on the current economic situation in Ukraine and present the latest results of our business tendency survey.
The upcoming Diplomatic Briefing, focused on “Ukraine’s economic situation and challenges in March 2025”, will take place online via Zoom on April 14, 2025, Monday, from 16:00 to 17:00 Kyiv time (9:00-10:00 EST / 15:00-16:00 CEST).
In March, the uncertainty on Ukraine’s situation increased as the U.S. support is uncertain. Ukraine also partially delays on the delivery of timely implementation of its liabilities on the IMF Program and the Ukraine Plan under Ukraine Facility from the EU. Still, the seventh review of the IMF Program was made and Ukraine received money from the IMF. Besides, new tranche from the EU under Ukraine Facility was transferred to Ukraine as it implemented indicators of Ukraine Plan for Q4’2025.
The Ukrstat published the GDP and its components for 2024: real GDP grew by only 2.9%, which is somewhat worse than we estimated. We will discuss these figures during the Briefing as well as present our estimates of economic development in March 2025. Higher input prices and low demand increased their importance as of impediments for business activities, as it was revealed by the IER survey of business.
The IER experts will discuss these and other recent economic trends - including trade developments, monetary policy, inflation – as well as challenges and outlook during the Briefing. The results of the IER Business Tendency Survey, conducted in March, will be presented in detail.
Speakers:
Oleksandra Betliy, macroeconomic, public finance, social and healthcare expert, IER Leading Research Fellow;
Vitaliy Kravchuk, macroeconomic, monetary policy and financial market expert, IER Leading Research Fellow;
Oksana Kuziakiv, IER Chief Executive, Head of the Center for Contemporary Society studies.
✅ English is a working language of the meeting.
We sincerely hope that you can honor us with your presence.
