14th meeting of the EHTF Bureau, which will be held virtually:

This 2-hour online meeting will focus on:&#128313; Shaping the agenda for

the 15th EHTF meeting.&#128313; Providing updates on procedural matters,

including the upcoming Bureau election.

The meeting will be conducted in English.

While the meeting is primarily intended for Bureau members, EHTF members

are welcome to attend.

Scope and purpose

The fourteenth EHTF Bureau meeting is convened to advance preparations for the fifteenth EHTF

meeting, scheduled for 17 June 2025. The discussion will focus on the following key areas:

• Update on the on-going consultations on the WHO Second European Programme of Work

(EPW2) and the latest developments within WHO: The Secretariat will provide an update

on the outcomes of the EPW2 hearings, and the current context and factors influencing the

WHO work.

• Agenda for the fifteenth EHTF meeting: The Bureau will brainstorm, discuss and agree on

the proposed structure and key themes of the EHTF meeting, including the timeline,

identification of potential speakers and format of sessions.

• EHTF Bureau elections: The Secretariat will provide an update on the upcoming election

of the EHTF Bureau, in line with the EHTF Rules of Procedure, as well as the expansion

of EHP stakeholders.

• EHP Partnerships: The Secretariat will brief the Bureau on the progress of the Partnerships’

annual report, leaflet updates, and advancements on the WHO/Europe website.

• Collection of the EHTF experiences and insights on the Budapest commitments

implementation: The Bureau will be updated on the Secretariat’s work to support the EHTF

in gathering information on how countries and stakeholders are implementing the Budapest

commitments.

• Upcoming events: The Secretariat will share an update on the upcoming events, including

the preparation for the Bonn Dialogues in 2025.

Following the meeting, the Bureau’s discussions will shape the provisional agenda for the

upcoming EHTF meeting, which will then be submitted to the EHTF members for their

consideration.

Proposal for the provisional programme of the

fifteenth meeting of the EHTF

Wednesday, 17 June 2025, 9:30–15:30 CEST

Plenary Session 1 − Welcome and introduction, adoption of agenda and programme

Participants will be welcomed by meeting organizers and will adopt the agenda and

programme of the meeting.

Plenary Session 2 − New reality driving opportunities

To set the scene, this session could explore the effects of evolving political and

economic contexts on environment and health policies, priorities, and implementation

efforts in the European Region.

Following the keynote speech, the EHTF members could have an opportunity to share

the challenges their countries are facing and how they are adapting.

Plenary Session 3 – Talk show on the road to implementing Budapest commitments

The EHP Secretariat could provide key highlights on the implementation of the EHTF

Programme of Work for 2024–2025.

Participants could be provided with examples of the implementation of the Budapest

commitments by Member States in a talk-show-style format.

Lunch break

Plenary Session 4 – Elections of officers

The EHTF, according to its Rules of Procedures, will elect its new Bureau (mandate

for 2025−2027), and will welcome new EHP stakeholders.

Plenary Session 5 – Lighting talks on major global and regional developments relevant to

environment and health

In this session EHP Secretariat, stakeholders and partners could present the major

global and regional developments relevant to environment and health.

Plenary Session 6 – Mapping the future: co-creating the EHTF Programme of Work for

2026-2027

Participants could be briefed on the outline of the draft programme of work for the

EHTF and collaboratively contribute ideas to shape key priorities and actions for the

next biennium.

Plenary Session 7 – Update on the EHP Partnerships

Lead countries could update the EHTF on the developments of the EHP Partnerships

in a talk-show-style format.
