The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union was proclaimed in December 2000. The European Commission is preparing its 2025 Annual report on the application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. To inform its work on the mid-term review, the Commission is consulting justice professionals.

The Commission would like to collect your views by inviting you to complete an online survey by 16 May 2025 (survey is available under this link).

La charte des droits fondamentaux de l’Union européenne a été proclamée en décembre 2000. La Commission européenne prépare son rapport annuel 2025 sur l’application de la Charte des droits fondamentaux de l’Union européenne. Afin d’éclairer ses travaux sur l’examen à mi-parcours, la Commission consulte les professionnels de la justice.

La Commission souhaite recueillir votre point de vue en vous invitant à répondre à une enquête en ligne avant le 16 mai 2025 (l’enquête est disponible sous ce lien).

Dear recipients,

The European Commission is preparing its 2025 Annual report on the application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, which will take the form of a mid-term review of the Strategy to strengthen the application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.

As justice practitioners have a central role in applying the Charter, the Commission would like to gather your views through a dedicated consultation survey. The survey looks at the application of fundamental rights in the Member States and at the EU level and gathers information on your needs for training and other support in the area of fundamental rights. The results of the consultation will be used to inform the European Commission’s further work on strengthening the application of fundamental rights across Europe.

Please note that this consultation survey is aimed especially to you as a justice practitioner.  The questions of the survey will vary depending on whether you choose to reply as an individual justice practitioner or as representative of your organisation, network or training institution. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to fill in. You may fill it in in your national language.

We kindly ask you to submit your input by Friday 16 May 2025.
