Dear Liis-Greete,
Finally, I wanted to ask if you have had a chance to review the questionnaire which was shared with all of the EJTN Members - you can find it here or in attachment. The questionnaire aims to assess the national legal basis and conditions (in Estonia) for sharing information between public prosecutors, on the one hand, and competition authorities, on the other. Perhaps you might be able to nominate someone who could review and complete the questionnaire.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Dear Marianne,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am contacting you regarding a training opportunity at EJTN for public prosecutors involved in financial and economic crime investigations (tax evasion, fraud, corruption, etc).
As you know, we are implementing a project titled “Single Market Programme” with financial support from the European Commission-DG Competition.
In the context of the project, we are organising training sessions and study visits on EU Competition Enforcement in Brussels from May to June 2025.
The call was launched at the start of the year, but we have yet to receive applications from Estonia.
I was hoping you could help us share the call with individuals who may fit the profile.
Additionally, we are required to contact police offices in Estonia. We disseminated the call via CEPOL channels - however, if you could share a direct contact at the central law enforcement training agency, I would be grateful.
Objective
The events aim to raise awareness among prosecutors and police officers about competition law enforcement. While financial and economic crime investigators are not enforcing competition law, they may encounter valuable information in the course of their investigations —company communications, financial transactions, or business practices — that could lead to the detection of anti-competitive behaviour. They can support competition law enforcement by alerting competition authorities to potential abuses and contributing information that may trigger competition infringement proceedings. Its an important initiative for the EU Commission and we are really hoping to improve representation from Estonia.
Application
Candidates can contact me directly to express interest by submitting the registration form in attachment.
You dont need to register them on the EJTN platform - we will do this.
The application deadline for events held in May is 28 April and events held in June - 26 May.
Financial Conditions
The project covers participants' expenses in line with the EJTN-SMP Financial Policy (attached).
It differs from the standard EJTN financial conditions.
Participants receive a fixed sum based on the location of their office and event venue - between 629 and 710 EUR, depending on their office location.
Participants are NOT required to submit a reimbursement request - their payment is processed automatically after the event.
No proof of actual expenses is required—boarding passes, invoices, and receipts do not need to be submitted.
Flight Options
We checked some of the flight and accommodation options. I would recommend that the participants apply for the sessions on 16-17 june, which should be within budget. Here is one option - Travel: Tallinn-Brussels 15-17 June- Hotel: ibis Styles Hotel Brussels Centre Stéphanie
