Please make sure to include in any reply our mail reference: EDQM-2025-01717-mail *************************************************************************** Dear members of National Pharmacopoeia Authorities and Groups of Experts 13A, 13B, TCM and HOM, As you may be aware, the European Pharmacopoeia will be entering a new era by switching to a fully virtual edition as of issue 12.1. This change brings with it a certain freedom and provides us with an opportunity to consider integrating new functionalities. The European Pharmacopoeia Secretariat is therefore contacting you to seek your input and advice regarding the possibility of including photographs for the microscopic identification of dried herbal drugs. We are currently exploring the different options and your expertise will be crucial in helping us to understand the challenges and potential utility of having photographs and/or botanical illustrations in our monographs or in the Knowledge Database.
