INVITATION TO CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF ESA

Dear Minister,

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the celebration commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Convention for the Establishment of the European Space Agency. The event — taking place from 19.45 on 18 June 2025 at ESA’s Headquarters at 8 rue Mario Nikis, 75015 Paris, France — will mark five decades of successful European cooperation in space with keynote addresses, a unique stage show and a cocktail reception.

From monitoring our climate, connecting people and businesses, studying our universe, and keeping Europeans safe, space is a vital part of our society. ESA has played a central role together with and on behalf of its Member States in delivering world-leading space systems and fostering innovation and collaboration across Europe. As we reflect on half a century of spectacular achievements and successes, we also look ahead to a crucial year for the European space sector and the opportunities that lie ahead.

As Director General of ESA, I am proud to be able to mark this important milestone for our Agency, and sincerely hope you can join us to celebrate it.
