Minister of Economy and Innovation
Republic of Lithuania
Dear Colleagues,
In today’s increasingly unpredictable global environment, strengthening our regional coordination and
deepening transatlantic ties is more important than ever. Our discussions in Riga on May 26, 2025,
clearly underscored the urgency of acting in concert to address the shared geopolitical, economic, and
security challenges we face.
In line with this shared objective, I wish to reiterate my proposal to organize a joint ministerial visit to
the United States of America in October 2025 - an important opportunity to advance our collective
interests and enhance our region’s visibility on the international stage.
As part of this visit, I am pleased to invite you to participate in a panel discussion titled “Shifting Tides:
U.S.–Baltic Economic Cooperation in a Volatile World”, scheduled for October 16, 2025 in Washington,
D.C., during the Spotlight 2025 Conference.
Spotlight 2025 is the leading transatlantic business and policy forum connecting the United States with
Northern Europe and the Baltics. Taking place on October 15–16, 2025 the conference will convene
senior political, business, and academic leaders to examine key strategic priorities. This year’s program
will focus on security challenges in the context of global volatility, with discussions covering investment
collaboration, defense technologies such as drones, cybersecurity threats, weapons and munitions,
energy security, and the protection of critical infrastructure.
The forum provides a timely platform to highlight our region’s strategic importance and to reaffirm our
commitment to strengthening both economic and security cooperation with the United States.
Please find the formal invitation enclosed. I kindly ask you to confirm your participation by August 1,
2025.
I look forward to your engagement and to continuing our shared efforts to advance regional and
transatlantic cooperation.
Sincerely,
Viktors Valainis
Minister
