Security Assessment for Communication App & Client

Dear JITs CP AG members,

Following the discussion in the AG meeting on 11 June, eu-LISA would like to kindly ask to provide the information concerning the security assessment, which will be conducted by your national competent authorities in order to enable users the installation of the communication app and the client on their corporate devices.

Please answer the following questions by Friday, 25 July COB.

The provided information will impact the prioritisation exercise, which is foreseen to take place in one of the following AGs.

• What information will be required to be provided by eu-LISA in order to complete the security assessment? Will the technical specification for the communication app and the client software would be sufficient?
• Are there any policies or security requirements on your side, which eu-LISA should take into account when preparing the documentation or implementing the application app and the client?  
• How much time will be needed to complete the security assessment by your competent authorities as of the moment of receiving the documents from eu-LISA?

As per the regulation the JITs CP will be composed of the centralised information system, communication application and the connection with the IT tools managed by JNS.

The communication app will be installed on the users’ devices. Also, the client software will be required to be installed on users’ devices in order to upload or download extraordinarily large volumes of operational data. eu-LISA will provide a dedicated IT tool, which will have to be used by the users.
