Notification regarding the electronic Apostille Programme (e-APP)
The Permanent Bureau of the HCCH is pleased to inform the Competent Authorities designated under the
Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents
(Apostille Convention) of a new implementation of the e-APP.
Canada
All the Canadian Competent Authorities have now an e-Register in place, with the following conditions:
1. Apostilles issued by:
• The Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada (Global Affairs
Canada; prefix: CA);
• The Ministry of Justice of the province of Alberta (prefix: AB);
• The Ministry of the Attorney General of the province of British Columbia (prefix: 59);
• The Ministry of Justice and Attorney General of the province Saskatchewan (prefix: SK)
can be verified at https://apostille.canada.ca/en/eregister-eregistre/.
2. Apostilles issued by the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement of
the province of Ontario (prefix: ON) can be verified at
https://www.officialdocuments.mgcs.gov.on.ca/en-US/validity-check/.
3. Apostilles issued by the Minister of Justice of the province of Quebec can be verified at

Le Bureau Permanent de la HCCH a le plaisir d’informer les Autorités compétentes désignées en vertu de

(Convention Apostille) d’une nouvelle mise en œuvre de l’e-APP.

La Oficina Permanente de la HCCH se complace en informar a las Autoridades Competentes designadas

los Documentos Públicos Extranjeros (Convenio sobre la Apostilla) de una nueva implementación
del e-APP.

Las Autoridades Competentes de Canadá han adoptado un sistema de Registro Electrónico, según las
siguientes condiciones:
1. Las Apostillas expedidas por:
