Dear Minister Joller, dear Karmen,
Please allow me to thank you for our conversation during the World Health Assembly in
Geneva this year. It was a sincere pleasure to make your acquaintance, and I look very
much forward to continue our collaboration.
I would again like to recognize the importance of preparedness for evacuation of civilians and
to acknowledge the need to address this issue further, especially in close dialogue with our
Finnish and Swedish counterparts.
I would also like to reiterate the gratitude of the government of Norway for Estonia’s
supportive role in Norway’s negotiations with the EU on our participation in EU’s health
preparedness and response.
Against the backdrop of the challenging geopolitical situation, our health systems need to be
prepared not only for pandemics, but for all types of scenarios. Close collaboration on health
preparedness and response is more important than ever, and a shared European as well as
Nordic-Baltic interest.
