Greetings from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC)!
On behalf of our Chief Executive, I am pleased to share with you that the second edition of Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX), a platform and market for global arts professionals to exchange ideas and forge collaborations, will return in 9-13 October 2026 following its well-received debut in 2024. We are deeply grateful to all the institutions, funding bodies, and arts practitioners around the world whose support and collaboration helped shape the inaugural event into a meaningful and successful experience.
With the aim of strengthening the global arts network, it is crucial to have participation from arts professionals across different regions at HKPAX 2026. This international platform offers delegates valuable opportunities to expand their networks, foster cultural exchange, and promote their productions in new markets – particularly in China and Asia. We would be honoured if your organisation could help us spread the word and encourage participation from your country or region. Additionally, we would greatly appreciate any financial support your organisation might be able to offer to facilitate involvement of artists from your country or region in the 2026 edition.
The global open call for International Showcases and Pitching Works is now available for online applications until 12 October 2025. This is an excellent platform for artists to present their creative productions to a global audience of producers and presenters, potentially leading to opportunities for touring, commissions and more. As a vibrant East-meets-West welcoming hub in the global performing arts community, the 2nd edition of the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX) returns from 9 to 13 October 2026. Ready to take the stage in Hong Kong and expand network with new markets particularly in China and across Asia? Artists and organisations worldwide are now invited to apply!
International Showcases
• Featuring full-length performances in dance, drama, music, xiqu (Chinese Opera), and multi-disciplinary arts (excerpt performances are allowed for xiqu’s work).
• Performance duration must be between 45 to 60 minutes.
• Submissions may include ready-to-tour work or newly created works. However, works-in-progress will NOT be accepted.
• Selected applicants will receive a showcase venue with basic technical and promotional support, and an allowance of US$10,000.
Pitching Works
• Pitch original projects to a network of presenters, venues, producers, and agents
• Submissions may include ready-to-tour works, works that are in-planning for a premiere within the next two years, and work-in-progress productions are allowed
• Selected applicants will be given 15 minutes to present to the HKPAX community, including a 10-minute presentation and a 5-minute Q & A session.
All selected applicants will be offered a complimentary spot in the HKPAX exhibition area to promote their works, and two Full Passes granting access to all HKPAX events from 9 to 13 October 2026!

HKPAX 2026, from 9 to 13 October 2026, will feature a thoughtfully curated programme spanning multiple strands, including International Showcases, Pitching Works, Hong Kong Chapter, Conversations, Exhibition, Networking Events, Expo Programmes, and more, making it a catalyst for new partnerships and a gateway to the vibrant arts scene in China, including Hong Kong, Asia and beyond. The open call for International Showcases and Pitching Works is now underway and will close at 23:59 (Hong Kong time) on 12 October 2025.
International Showcases presents full-length performances in dance, drama, music, Xiqu (Chinese Opera), and multi-disciplinary arts, with a duration of 45-60 minutes, before local and international audiences in Hong Kong’s major performance venues. Selected applicants will be provided with a showcase venue with basic technical and promotional support, and an allowance of US$10,000 towards travel and accommodation expenses.

Greetings from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC).
We are writing to share exciting news with you regarding the second edition
of the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX). Building upon the
resounding success of its inaugural edition, we are excited to let you know
that HKPAX returns from 9 to 13 October 2026.
The inaugural HKPAX was held from 14 to 18 October 2024, and with
the enthusiastic support from both regional and international communities.,
the five-day event was well-received by global & local participants and
audiences, attracting over 32,000 attendees in total. We have welcomed
over 1,600 arts leaders and practitioners from 60 regions and countries,
featuring a diverse programme of more than 150 performances, including
expo programmes, international showcases, pitch sessions, leadership talks,
exhibition, and a series of networking activities. Nearly 100 exhibition booths
were set up by local and international arts organisations and professionals
to facilitate peer-to-peer exchanges and explore collaborations.
Driven by the goal of strengthening the global network of arts
institutions and practitioners, HKADC is delighted to present HKPAX again
from 9 to 13 October 2026. This edition will build upon the programme
framework of the inaugural HKPAX, and we endeavour to deliver a
welcoming platform for all. You may refer to the Annex for details.
A global open call for International Showcases and Pitching Works is
now available for online application via www.hkpax.org.hk , extending an
invitation to artists and organisations from around the world. We would be
