Subject: Invitation to the eu-LISA High-Level Conference of 1 October
Dear Secretary General, eu-LISA is delighted to invite you to its High-Level Conference: ‘’Strategic Autonomy in Action: Keeping Europe and Its Borders Secure with Trusted Technology’’. The event will take place on 1 October 2025, in Tallinn, at Rüütelkonna hoone.
The 2025 eu-LISA High-Level Conference is dedicated to the strategic role of sovereign technologies in keeping Europe and its borders secure. Bringing together high-level representatives from the EU institutions, national authorities, industry, and academia, the conference will provide a forum for discussions and debates at the intersection of technology, rule of law, and strategic skills development. We will also delve into eu-LISA’s role in the context of the EU’s quest for strategic autonomy.
Considering our institutions’ close cooperation, I would be honoured if you could participate as a speaker in the opening High-Level Debate on Digital Sovereignty. By launching a discussion around the concept of digital sovereignty at EU level and the way this could be considered when developing and implementing policies in the JHA area, this high-level debate is looking to set the scene for the subsequent panel discussions. We would be pleased to hear your views on the role of different stakeholders in contributing to EU’s efforts to strengthen our borders, security and justice while aiming for leadership in the technology field.
For this session, we have the foreseen five speakers including the Deputy Secretary-General and Chief Operating Officer of the European Commission, the Director General of DG HOME, Frontex Executive Director, and eu-LISA representative.
Furthermore, I would be pleased to welcome you at the Evening Cocktail taking place at the meeting venue, following the Conference, at 17.00-18.30 EET.
My team and I would be grateful if you could confirm your availability by 10 September 2025, by contacting us at [email protected].
Should you or your team have any questions, please get in touch by email: [email protected] or contact Ms Raluca Batagoiu by phone: +372 5601 0193. Further modalities on the set-up of the panel will be communicated to you prior to the event.
Thank you for your kind cooperation and I look forward to welcoming you at our High-Level Conference!
Yours sincerely,
Marili Männik
