To the kind attention of the Solvit Office,
On behalf of AEO - Agora Election Observation MTÜ, an NGO dedicating itself to fostering a democratic, participatory, diverse, equal and transnational Europe committed to human rights. In particular, the organisation aims to train young people as international election observers and report on youth participation in elections in Europe. I am writing to formally request your esteemed patronage for our upcoming event entitled "European Demos: Engage, Exchange, Evolve", which will take place in Tallinn. We're still defining the official date and venue.
This event represents the final presentation of the activities carried out within the framework of the EURODEMOS - A new push to european democracy, a European initiative co-funded by Erasmus+ programme (Italian National Agency), based on the intervention strategies established within the European Democracy Action Plan, which aims to empower citizens and build more resilient democracies across the EU by promoting free and fair elections, strengthening media freedom, and countering disinformation.
The event will gather participants from multiple countries who have taken part in transnational panels, alongside institutional representatives, civil society actors, and members of the local community. We believe that your patronage would give institutional value and visibility to the initiative, and we would be honoured to include your name/logo among the official supporters of the event.
Please find attached a brief presentation of the project and event agenda.
Should you require any additional information or documentation, we remain at your complete disposal.
We thank you in advance for considering our request, and we look forward to the opportunity of your support.
Kind regards

EURODEMOS – A new push to European Democracy
Project ID: 2022-2-IT03-KA220-YOU-000095288
Funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, this project is rooted in the intervention strategies outlined in the European Democracy Action Plan, which aims to empower citizens and foster more resilient democracies across the EU. The initiative promotes free and fair elections, strengthens media freedom, and counters disinformation. As emphasized by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen:
“The EU is not just about parties and politics, rules or regulations, markets or currencies. It is about people and their aspirations.”
Objectives
• To inform and raise awareness about the foundations of European democracy and the challenges posed by the pandemic, digitalization, and disinformation;
• To actively engage young Europeans in decision-making processes and political debates of relevance;
• To foster dialogue among young people from different European countries on topics related to democracy and civic participation.
Activities
• Organization of seven thematic panels (Italy, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece) addressing key issues related to EU democracy:
1. Electoral observation; 2. New technologies and e-government; 3. Fake news and disinformation; 4. The concept of a European demos; 5. EU institutions and proposals for their reform; 6. Cultural diversity in the EU; 7. The role of civil society in the European context.
Agora Election Observation MTU https://agoraelectionobservation.org/ [email protected]
• Drafting of policy recommendations: Each panel will produce at least 10 concrete recommendations to be submitted to EU institutions and shared with fellow European citizens.
• Debate sessions during transnational events, designed to offer young participants the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue on democratic challenges, and to express their specific perspectives and needs.
Expected Results
• Strengthened knowledge of key democratic principles and current challenges; • Enhanced communication, negotiation, and debating skills among participants; • Greater participation in democratic life and civic engagement; • Improved understanding of disinformation and techniques for identifying fake news; • Deeper knowledge of EU and OSCE/ODIHR standards on electoral observation; • Strengthened intercultural competence and personal development; • Increased awareness and integration of gender issues and gender perspectives.
