BRAIN-CHAIN directly addresses Europe's mental and brain health crisis affecting over 84 million people, with an
annual economic burden of up to €800 billion. The project will build resilient interregional value chains for digital brain health by connecting Estonia with innovative SMEs and healthcare providers across Europe.
Key benefits:
• Activation of our regional healthcare systems and stakeholders over 36 months to specify their demand to deploy advanced digital health innovations addressing neuro-longevity and mental health
• Development of EHDS-compliant data interoperability and AI governance frameworks aligned with new EU regulations
• Direct financial support for regional SMEs through open calls, with at least 50% allocated to Less Developed Regions including our own
• Integration with our Smart Specialisation Strategy priorities in digital health and innovation
