INVITATION – HIGH RISE BUILDING WORKING GROUP Dear members of CTIF, At the CTIF Executive Committee meeting in September 2025, the committee approved the es- tablishment of the new professional High Rise Building Working Group. The main objectives of the Working Group are to share, review and develop (see attached for the terms of reference):
a. fire safety risk assessment and evolving and emerging challenges for high-rise build-
ings (e.g., increasing adoption of solar panels and energy storage systems and mixed-
use development that combines commercial and residential components).
b. fire safety control systems and regulations for high-rise buildings for different coun-
tries and share best practices.
c. best practices on fire safety enforcement and partnerships with stakeholders (e.g.,
building owners, engineers/architects, and emergency services);
d. firefighting equipment, practices and operational procedures and emerging challenges
for high-rise buildings; and
e. standards, codes of practice, guidance documents and training materials for refer-
ence.
Participating countries can expect to contribute their expertise whilst engaging in dynamic dis- cussions on tall building fire safety challenges and innovative solutions. Representatives will have valuable opportunities to share operational experiences and proven best practices from their jurisdictions, learn from diverse international approaches to high-rise fire safety, and collaborate on developing practical guidance materials that benefit the global fire safety community. Through regular virtual meetings and targeted collaborative projects, the working group will fos- ter meaningful knowledge exchange, with comprehensive progress updates presented at the annual CTIF conference. This initiative will enable member countries to remain at the forefront of emerging trends and technologies whilst collectively addressing the rapidly evolving fire safety landscape in modern tall buildings. The Executive Committee hereby invites member countries who are interested to send your rep- resentatives to the High Rise Building Working Group, and would appreciate it if you could pro- vide your names and contacts to the CTIF Office ([email protected]) and copy to Mr Noor Azam ([email protected]), by 31 December 2025. The working group will reach out to you separately with details on the inaugural virtual meeting that will tentatively take place by February 2026. Best regards.
