Dear Environment and Health Task Force Members,
We are pleased to inform you that the first session of the Plenary of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste and Pollution will take place on 2-6 February 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland. The session will be preceded by the regional and stakeholder meetings on 1 February 2026, held at the same venue, the Geneva International Conference Centre. Registration for the first session of the Plenary is open until 24 November 2025.
The Budapest Declaration on Environment and Health promotes the active engagement of WHO and the health sector in establishing the Panel and contributing to the sound management of chemicals.
We encourage Member States’ participation in the first Plenary of the Panel. We are also pleased to inform you that WHO is in a position to support the participation of up to 3–4 representatives in total from the health sector of countries eligible for financial support within the WHO European Region, so they can articulate the needs and priorities for advancing scientific knowledge and addressing gaps in the area of chemicals and human health.
Kindly note that the nomination from the public health ministry or agency must be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Please indicate your interest in submitting a nomination from your country by sending an email to Dr Irina Zastenskaya [email protected]. Please take note of the deadline of 24 November 2025.
With kind regards,
EHP Secretariat
