Thank You for such grey area question. I know that in Estonia there are few paragliders with trike which are not registered in Estonian register. However, according to definition of aviation act paraglider with trike is aircraft and to operate it in Tallinn FIR it has to be in register.

But referring to ICAO Annex 7 ch 5.2 p 5.2.2 Special cases. If a heavier-than-air aircraft does not possess parts corresponding to those mentioned in 5.2.1 and 5.2.2, or if the parts are too small to accommodate the marks described therein, the measurements of the marks shall be

determined by the State of Registry, taking account of the need for the aircraft to be identified readily.

So, in my opinion using common sense, trike is the part of the aircraft where reg mark should by applied, so it can be identified. Also fireproof plate. I think it is not reasonable to add reg mark to fabric wing as it can damage fabric itself. Also after accident there is nothing to read if fabric is burt or damaged.

I am writing to you with a request for information regarding the registration procedure for powered paragliders equipped with a chassis (or the so-called powered paraglider with trike) in Estonia, as well as the procedure for placing registration marks on them (if such registration is carried out)!

I am interested in the planned changes to the civil aviation aircraft registration procedure in Latvia regarding powered paragliders equipped with a chassis!
