Dear Colleagues,

This is a gentle reminder that the monthly mpox data for the month of

February, along with any retrospective data, is due for submission by 7

March 2024. Kindly ensure that all epidemiological and virological

information is reported to TESSy by 10:00 AM on the mentioned date.

Additionally, we kindly request that you report any significant increases

in case numbers or changes in epidemiology, particularly outbreaks

related to mass gathering events, re-infections among cases, or rise in

cases among women or children, through event-based surveillance (EpiPulse

and IHR channels). If support is needed in posting on EpiPulse, please,

let us know.

Your contributions play a vital role in our efforts to control the mpox

outbreaks and protect public health. Thank you for your continued

cooperation.

As the end of the year approaches, we would like to inform you of the

reporting schedule for early 2024. The next deadlines for reporting in

2024 will be at 10:00 AM on the following dates:

* 11 January 2024

* 8 February 2024

* 7 March 2024

* 4 April 2024

* 2 May 2024

The monthly reported data will contribute to the production of a now

quarterly ECDC/WHO EURO joint (next published on 12 January 2024) as

well as the monthly reporting to WHO Headquarters and .

In the case of any unexpected increase in case numbers or presence of

cases in specific risk groups, we kindly request that you please report

these through event-based surveillance mechanisms (EpiPulse/EWRS/IHR

routes).

Dear Colleagues,

As previously informed, mpox reporting to TESSy will be kept on a monthly

basis. The next deadlines for reporting in 2023 will be November 9, 2023,

by 10:00 AM and December 7, 2023, by 10:00 AM.

The monthly reported data will contribute to the production of a now

quarterly ECDC/WHO EURO joint as well as the monthly reporting to WHO

Headquarters and .

In the case of any unexpected increase in case numbers or presence of

cases in specific risk groups, we kindly request that you please report

these through event-based surveillance mechanisms (EpiPulse/EWRS/IHR

routes).

We are writing to inform you of an extension to the monthly surveillance

for mpox and the upcoming data reporting deadline to TESSy.

Kindly report the case-based mpox data to TESSy for the month of

September to TESSy on or before: October 5, 2023, by 10:00 AM

We understand that this notification comes with very short notice, and we

apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We highly value your

contributions and dedication to this important endeavour. We are

currently working on providing more detailed information regarding

submission deadlines and other related matters. We will communicate these

updates to you as soon as they are available.

Please continue to report all available epidemiological and virological

information related to mpox cases. Additionally, if there are any

significant increases in case numbers or changes in epidemiology, such as

outbreaks related to mass gathering events, re-infections among cases, or

a rise in cases among women or children, we kindly request that you

report these through event-based surveillance (EpiPulse). ECDC will make

this information accessible to WHO Europe through the &quot;Situation

Awareness&quot; tab in EpiPulse to avoid double-reporting to ECDC and

WHO.

Dear colleagues,

As you will be aware, the Fifth Meeting of the International Health

Regulations (2005) (IHR) Emergency Committee on the Multi-Country

Outbreak of mpox (monkeypox) took place last week, please see here:

Having considered the significant decline in the global spread of mpox

and the gains achieved in the control of the outbreak in many countries,

the Committee advised that the event requires a transition from a PHEIC

to a robust, proactive and sustainable mpox response and control program,

that prevents resurgence of global spread, aims to eliminate person-to-

person transmission, and mitigates the impact of local spill-over

effects.

In line with this, we continue to request monthly mpox data submission to

TESSy complemented by event-based surveillance with reporting through IHR

mechanisms. Please report all available epidemiological and virological

information.

Please continue to report case-based mpox data to TESSy for the previous

month on the first Tuesday or Wednesday of each month, by 10:00AM. Due to

potential overlap with holidays, the following dates for monthly data

upload for the next six months are as follows:

Wed 7 June 2023

Wed 5 July 2023

Wed 9 August 2023

Wed 6 September 2023

We will continue to publish the Joint Mpox Surveillance Bulletin on a

monthly basis. Please report any significant increases in case numbers or

changes in epidemiology, such as outbreaks related to mass gathering

events, re-infections among cases, rise in cases among women or children,

ad hoc through event-based surveillance (EpiPulse). ECDC will make the

posted information accessible to WHO Europe through the Situation

Awareness tab in EpiPulse to avoid double-reporting to ECDC and WHO.

Please also note that should there be any significant changes in mpox

epidemiology in the coming months, the reporting frequency through TESSy

might be changed on short notice to ensure appropriate surveillance

according to the epidemiological situation.
