Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to confirm the new dates of ECDC’s National Focal Points for Communication Meeting – 4-5 March 2026. The meeting will be held in person only, at ECDC premises in Stockholm, Sweden.

As in previous years, the meeting will offer an opportunity for face-to-face exchanges between members of the network and ECDC, as well as a space to share priorities and information on past and upcoming communication activities at both national and EU level. This meeting will focus on the current trust crisis public health organisations are facing, and how to build trust in today’s sociopolitical environment. We will discuss how to design effective campaigns by integrating behavioural insights, digital tools, social media listening, and evaluation, as well as how to approach misinformation and disinformation. On the second day, we will review strategic communication priorities from you and from ECDC to identify synergies and strengthen collaboration. The programme will include a mix of presentations and working groups. If you would like to present on a topic related to the meeting themes, please let us know.

ECDC will cover the cost of the flights and accommodation, and will provide meals during the meeting. Please note that, as this message is not a formal invitation, we kindly ask you to not make any binding reservations at this stage. An official invitation and the draft agenda will be shared shortly.

At the time of the official invitation, you will also have the opportunity to nominate another colleague to attend the meeting, if you consider that the meeting topics would be better addressed by someone else, even if they are not the National Focal Point or an alternate.
