The Chair of the Coordination Committee of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), H.E. Ambassador James Baxter, presents his compliments and has the honor to invite the governments of the States members of the WIPO Coordination Committee and, as observers, the governments of the States members of WIPO not members of that Committee, to be represented at the informal meeting of the Coordination Committee for the presentations by candidates proposed for nomination to the post of Director General of WIPO.
The informal meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at WIPO Headquarters, in Geneva, in the WIPO Conference Hall, and will open at 11.00 a.m. (CET). Member States that have proposed candidates for nomination to the post of Director General of WIPO are kindly requested to make the necessary arrangements to facilitate the travel by their respective candidates to Geneva for the informal meeting.
The modalities for the presentations by candidates, as well as the list of pre-submitted questions to be addressed to them, will be communicated in advance of the meeting

Le president du Comite de coordination de I’Organisation Mondiale de la Propriete Intellectuelle (OMPI), S. E. El president© del Comite de Coordinacion de la Organizacion Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI), S.E. el embajador James Baxter, presenta sus atentos saludos y tiene el honor de invitar a los Gobiernos de los Estados miembros del Comite de Coordinacion de la OMPI y, en calidad de observadores, a los Gobiernos de los Estados miembros de la OMPI que no son miembros de dicho Comite a estar representados en la reunion informal del Comite de Coordinacion de la OMPI destinada a que realicen sus presentaciones los candidates propuestos para la designacion al puesto de director general de la OMPI.
La reunion informal tendra lugar el martes 27 de enero de 2026 en la sede de la OMPI, en Ginebra, en la sala de conferencias de la OMPI, y comenzara a las 11 de la mahana (hora de Ginebra). Se solicita a los Estados miembros que hayan propuesto candidates para la designacion al puesto de director general de la OMPI que tengan a bien tomar las disposiciones necesarias para facilitar el viaje a Ginebra de sus respectivos candidates para la reunion informal.
Las modalidades de las presentaciones de los candidates, asi como la lista de preguntas enviadas previamente para que les sean formuladas, se comunicaran antes de la reunion.
