Hi!
I am searching info about forest certification in Estonia.
How many percent of forest in Estonia are certificated? Are there differences between private forests and states forests?
What are the most common certifications and what is their share of total certifications? I think the most common certifications might be FSC and PEFC. What I have understood there are some different kind of FSC certificate types, like “FSC Controlled wood” and “FSC Mix credit”. Can you say how many percent of forest or cutted forest is “FSC Controlled wood” and how many percent FSC MIX”?
How do you see the development and future of certifications in Estonia, which one (FSC (Controlled wood or FSC MIX) / PEFC would be more popular? Or is there coming some totally new certification system? I would also appreciate it if you could send me links or documents where I can find more information on the certification of Estonian forests and the forest sector! Dear Kalle!
In Estonia, there are two certification schemes: FSC and PEFC. Please find the contact information for both attached. We recommend reaching out directly to them with any questions regarding forest certification in Estonia, as unfortunately, RMK, as the state forest manager, does not have enough information about the entire forest certification process in Estonia.
