Letter of Support for “LIFE-23-IPE-EE-LIFE SIP WET-EST” project

With this letter, State Forest Management Centre, expresses its support to and interest in the LIFE-

23-IPE-EE-LIFE SIP WET-EST, acronym LIFE SIP WetEST, title “Enabling collaborative efforts

for systemic change in Estonian river basin management” being prepared by Ministry of Climate of

the Republic of Estonia and other partners to tackle major environmental issues targeted in the River

Basin Management Plan (RBMP) for the West-Estonia River Basin District.

State Forest Management Centre has been involved to the preparation of the LIFE SIP WetEST

project and would participate to the project as an associated partner. The special interest of the State

Forest Management Centre is to collaborate to the Work Package 6: “Advancing melioration

practices that support of ecological status of catchments”, specifically with the task 6.1 “Setting up

and coordinating a task force group for advancing catchment sensitive melioration practices”, task

6.3 “Designing the demonstration interventions, improving the proofs of concepts for the best

practices”, task 6.4 “Catchment level demonstration of sustainable and ecologically sound

melioration systems” and with the task 6.7 “Knowledge-exchange to advance the state of the art in

catchment sensitive melioration”.

State Forest Management Centre confirms that obligations regarding Work Package 6 tasks 6.1, 6.3,

6.4 and 6.7 will be covered by complementary funding.

We are looking forward to the next steps of the LIFE SIP WetEST project and future cooperation as

an associated partner.
