Dear European colleagues

We have recently learned that, since the 2018/19 academic year, medical education has been standardised throughout Egypt. It now comprises a total of five years and 4,315 hours as standard. 

Obviously, this no longer meets the requirements of the minimum acceptable period in the directive on the mutual recognition of professional qualifications.

Please can you advise:

• * Whether you are aware of this change?

• * Whether you continue to accept the basic medical qualification awarded in Egypt and if so, on what basis?
