Mr Jürgen Ligi
Minister of Finance
of the Republic of Estonia
Dear Sir,
On April 22-24, 2026, the International Congress Centre in Katowice is hosting the 18th edition of the European Economic Congress.
A three days long debate, held annually in Katowice, the centre of Poland’s Silesia region, the EEC is among Europe’s key economic events, a statement corroborated by the rank of its participants. These include senior Polish and European politicians, diplomats, investors, managers of major companies – European and global – pursuing international endeavours, renowned pundits and respected economists.
The figures summarizing the previous edition of the EEC 2025 do justice to the scale of the event: 18,000 online and in-person participants, over 1,300 speakers, almost 200 thematic sessions, 320 partners and 650 representatives of the media.
Each edition of the congress revolves around the condition, future and competitiveness of the European economy.
This year, our guests – especially manufacturers – will appreciate the opportunities that Europe’s effort to increase its security and defence capabilities offers to a variety of businesses.
The private sector is holding its breath, as it awaits Europe’s new approach to industry to fully unravel, with special emphasis put on increasing its competitiveness, providing clean and affordable energy, decreasing dependency in imports, and near-shoring.
How can the European economy be made safer and more competitive? What challenges and opportunities face the economy of EU member states presented with increasing global competition, barriers to international trade, volatile geopolitics, the ongoing transition of the energy sector, and rapid digitalisation?
These are the key questions that we will seek to answer in an open debate among representatives of administration, business people, and academics, held in line with the mission expressed in the slogan of this year's edition of the EEC : “the Power of Dialogue”.
The value of debate and conclusions of the European Economic Congress is a product of the competence of our guests, their openness to different opinions, willingness to engage in dialogue, and their courage to address difficult subjects.
We wish to invite you to participate in the European Economic Congress scheduled for April 22-24, 2026, in the character of Special Guest.
We shall await your response, hoping to meet you in Katowice, the heart of Silesia.
We remain open to your suggestions on the subject and form of your participation in the European Economic Congress.
We also offer our support in organizing your stay in Poland.
We would be glad and honoured to host you in Katowice.
Please find attached the the official invitation letter and promotional folder.
I remain at your disposal should you need any additional information and look forward to your response.
Yours sincerely
