Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to save the date for the international academic conference:
Organised by IASIS NGO, the conference is dedicated to advancing research, academic dialogue, and evidence-informed policy on the most pressing risks facing children, adolescents, and young people today. It is conceived as a cross-sectoral forum where scholarly research, professional practice, and policy perspectives come together to strengthen child protection and youth wellbeing at national, European, and international level.
Against a backdrop of increasing social, economic, and digital challenges affecting children and youth, the conference aims to foster interdisciplinary exchange, critical reflection, and comparative analysis, with clear relevance for policy development and practical application.
Confirmed academic institutions and networks include:
- Representatives from the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child
- Leading international academic institutions, including: University of California, Berkeley · Yale University · Harvard University · Salem State University · University of Huddersfield · Aston University
- The international academic network Universities Network for Children in Armed Conflict
- European and international academic units and research groups working in child protection, mental health, criminology, youth studies, and social care
- International and European academic and policy networks from the USA, Italy, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and across EU Member States
Main thematic areas include:
- Child protection and children’s rights
- Youth delinquency, violence, and prevention
- Child and adolescent mental health
- Family, community, and institutional care
- Digital risks and contemporary challenges
Call for academic engagement
In addition to attendance, we warmly welcome expressions of interest from academics, researchers, and research-oriented organisations who may wish to contribute to the programme through:
- a thematic paper or presentation, or
- participation in an academic or policy-oriented roundtable aligned with the conference themes.
In the coming weeks, further announcements will be made regarding additional speakers, participating academic institutions and networks, as well as the detailed conference programme.
