INVITATION
Digital Opening of the Year 2026 | EU Digital Priorities through the CEE Perspective
24 February 2026 (Tuesday), at 4 pm Business & Science Poland, Rue Belliard 40, Bruxelles
Dear Minister Pakosta,
CEE Digital Coalition and Business & Science Poland have the honor of inviting you to speak in a panel discussion during the Digital Opening of the Year 2026 | EU Digital Priorities through the CEE Perspective session.
The event co-organised by CEE Digital Coalition, a gathering of digital and advanced technology industry of Central and Eastern Europe, cooperating to foster digital transformation of the economy and information society of the region, promoting close cooperation among CEE countries in the digital aspect, and Business & Science Poland will be held on 24 February 2026 (Tuesday), at 4 pm in Business & Science Poland, Rue Belliard 40, Bruxelles.
About the event: As the European Union enters a new policy cycle, 2026 will be a decisive year for the future of Europe’s digital advance and its competitiveness. With major digital regulations entering their implementation phase and new initiatives on the horizon, the EU’s digital agenda is increasingly shifting from legislative ambition to practical delivery, competitiveness, and global positioning.
This event will bring together experts from EU institutions and representatives of the digital sector from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) to discuss the EU’s digital priorities for 2026. The discussion will explore the European Commission’s and EU policymakers’ plans for the coming year, while also reflecting on the expectations, concerns and hopes of the private sector regarding upcoming regulatory and policy initiatives.
Against the backdrop of growing global competition, technological acceleration and geopolitical uncertainty, the event will offer a regional perspective on how the EU’s digital agenda can support innovation, investment and economic growth, while ensuring legal certainty and proportional regulation. Particular attention will be paid to the role of CEE as a fast-growing digital ecosystem and a key contributor to Europe’s digital competitiveness.
It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in a panel discussion dedicated to the following topics:
What will define the EU digital agenda in 2026? Key priorities of EU institutions for the next year and their strategic rationale
From legislation to implementation. How will the focus shift as major digital acts (AI Act, Data Act, DMA, DSA, CRA, etc.) move into implementation and enforcement?
Competitiveness and innovation in the digital decade: How can EU digital policy better support scale-ups, investment and innovation, particularly in CEE economies?
Regulatory predictability vs. flexibility. What does the private sector expect from EU policymakers in terms of regulatory stability, simplification and proportionality? Particularly in terms of the Digital Omnibus Package
CEE perspective on EU digital policy. What are the region’s specific needs, strengths and concerns, and how can they be better reflected in EU-level decision-making? Particularly in terms of the Digital Omnibus Package
Global dimension of the EU digital agenda. How should the EU position itself globally in 2026 in areas such as AI, data, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure, while maintaining openness and strategic autonomy?
Please, do not hesitate to reach out with any questions regarding the event!
Sincerely,
