Thank you very much for your warm New Year’s greetings to me, my family and the people of Estonia. Allow me in turn to convey to you my sincere wishes for a peaceful, prosperous and successful year 2026 for you, your loved ones and the people oflndia.

Estonia and India enjoy excellent relations, grounded in shared values and a growing, forward-looking partnership. We highly value our cooperation in trade, investment, digital affairs, cyber security, education and people-to-people contacts, and see considerable untapped potential to further deepen these ties in the coming years.

In this context, Estonia supports the successful and timely conclusion of an ambitious, balanced and mutually beneficial EU—India Free Trade Agreement. A modern Free Trade Agreement could help elevate our economic and trade cooperation to a new level, open fresh opportunities for businesses and citizens on both sides, and contribute to greater prosperity, resilience and connectivity between India and the European Union.

1 look forward to continuing our close cooperation and to further strengthening the dynamic partnership between Estonia and India, as weII as between India and the European Union, in the year ahead.
