Dear Madam/Sir,
I am contacting you as the central authority under the 1965 Hague Convention on the taking of evidence abroad in civil or commercial matters and would very much appreciate your guidance on the following question:
Your country has not objected to the possibility to send judicial documents, by postal channels, directly to persons abroad (article 10a).
Many countries have declared in their responses to Hague questionnaires or during their participation in past Special commission that they do not invoke reciprocity regarding postal service, which means that countries like Switzerland (which have made an article-10a-objection) are entitled to make service by postal channels in these countries.
We are currently updating our database for Swiss authorities regarding the possibilities they have for service abroad, and would very much appreciate to learn if your country would accept service by postal channels by Swiss courts to persons in your country.
Many thanks for your assistance and kind regards,
Niklaus Meier
