Dear Mr. Põiklik,
Thank you very much for your message and positive answer; we truly appreciate it.
Our programme is still in preparation, we are waiting for confirmations of some meetings. At this point, 16 and 18 March in the morning seem quite fine for a meeting, we leave it to you to decide and we will adjust.
As for the working language, it will be English, since the precondition for participation in our media trips programme is fluency in English. But, if necessary, we can arrange an interpreter from Estonian to Serbian, just please let us know in advance.
In addition, all will be professional journalists. The group will be accompanied by me and my colleague Miona Milošević. The total number of participants is 13; we will have the list of participants by next Monday (including passport numbers, for the case they are needed for security/entrance procedure).
Since we will have cameramen in the group (tv stations will have journalist plus a cameraman), could you please let me know if the filming be allowed? It would be useful if they can shoot at least a blind shoots, for illustration of the meeting.
The agenda that you have proposed is perfect, it is just what we need; the topic of anti-corruption is very important in Serbia and I think with this agenda a case of a good European practice will be presented.
Please let me know if you need additional information from our part.
Kind regards,
Marina Rakić

Dear Marina,
Thank you very much for your letter and interest in Estonia's experience in the field of anti-corruption. We are pleased to confirm that the Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs of Estonia would be very happy to meet with the delegation of Serbian journalists during their visit to Estonia in March 2026.
We would be glad to host the meeting on 16, 17, or 18 March 2026, at a time that best fits your programme. Please let us know which of these dates would suit you best.
During the meeting, we suggest providing an overview of Estonia's main anti-corruption priorities and how they are implemented in practice. We can introduce our strategic approach, key preventive and enforcement measures, transparency and integrity mechanisms, as well as recent developments and future plans.
We hope that the meeting will be attended by colleagues who are directly responsible for criminal law and procedure matters within the field of criminal policy, as well as representatives from our foreign cooperation and communications teams.
We would also appreciate it if you could confirm the working language of the meeting. Will the discussion be held entirely in English, or will you arrange interpretation so that our officials may speak in Estonian with interpretation into Serbian?
We look forward to welcoming your delegation to the Ministry. Please feel free to share the list of participants once it is available.
Kind regards,
Priit Põiklik

Subject: Visit of a group of Serbian journalists to Estonia
Tähelepanu! Tegemist on välisvõrgust saabunud kirjaga.
Tundmatu saatja korral palume linke ja faile mitte avada.Dear Madam/Sir,
I am addressing you on behalf of the Pulse of Europe - Media Trips to EU project that is under implementation in Serbia, which currently prepares a visit of a group of Serbian journalists to Estonia.
Let me briefly introduce the project: it is an EU-funded project with the main activity to support Serbian journalists to report on the best European practices, by organising media trips to EU countries. The main objective is to inform Serbian citizens, via media reports, on these practices and thus bring them closer the EU. So far, group and individual media trips were organised to 21 EU countries and some 630 media reports were produced and published. More information about the project is available on: https://pulse-of-europe.euzatebe.rs/en/
Currently, we are preparing a visit of a group of Serbian journalists (media trip) to Estonia, which will take place from 15 to 20 March 2026. The group will have 13 participants - journalists of mainstream Serbian media plus two members of the project team. The programme that we are developing focuses on several key topics, such are E digital government, fight against corruption, cyber security, fight against disinformation.
In the programme, one of the main segment is fight against corruption, having in mind a very good record that Estonia has in it. In that sense, we would like to include into it a visit to the Ministry of Justice that coordinates anti-corruption policy and strategy implementation in Estonia. If possible, for meeting with the Ministry representatives that would enable journalists to get insight about anti-corruption policy and its records and future plans. I would kindly ask you for information if it could be possible during the abovementioned week, on any of days except 19 March, when we are on a field trip to Narva.
For Serbian journalists it is of utmost importance to be in position to hear firsthand about successful story when it regards anti-corruption measures and fight against corruption. I note that all participants will be fluent in English as well as that, in a case of positive answer, we would provide the list of participants in due time.
Thank you very much in advance for considering our request.
Kind regards,
Marina Rakić
