Invitation Letter for the Diplomatic briefing on the economic situation in Ukraine,

Dear Colleagues,

The Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting is pleased to invite you to our regular

monthly "Diplomatic Briefing," where IER experts share their insights on the current economic situation

in Ukraine and present the latest results of our business tendency survey.

The upcoming Diplomatic Briefing, focused on “Ukraine’s economic situation and challenges in

February 2026”, will take place online via Zoom on March 12, 2026, Thursday, from 16:00 to 17:00

Kyiv time (9:00-10:00 EST / 15:00-16:00 CEST).

In February, russian army forces continued attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. Some

businesses were forced to cut hours of work or temporary stop their activities. The situation with access

to electricity and hearing improved gradually during a month due to emergency recovery of energy

sector, which was backed up with substantial international support. But meanwhile the use of fuel

generators in Kyiv and some other cities increased substantially, which resulted in high fuel imports.

russian attacks also hampered exports through Ukraine Sea Corridor. Overall, harsh economic

situation negatively impacted hampered the central fiscal revenues.

The international support for Ukraine, which is essential for macroeconomic resilience and stability,

became more certain with the IMF Executive Board decision on the approval of new EFF program for

Ukraine. However, difficult prior actions on taxation were turned into structural benchmarks. Thus, the

smooth implementation of the Program is challenged from the beginning.

We will discuss the financial challenges, key economic parameters and business tendencies of

February in greater detail during Diplomatic Briefing.
