Name of exercise – NDVF BEST INFANTRY SQUAD COMPETITION

The goal of the competition – exchange experience beetwen NDVF and partner units and select the
best squad.
Concept of competition – the best infantry squad competition include the most basic individual and
collective military tasks, such as land navigation, tactics, radio procedures and others tasks.
1. Land navigation:
- to set true North;
- to orient map by using objects in the terrain;
- to point the location on the map;
- to set the magnetic, axial and backward azimuthsm and measure distances on the map;
- to measure the distance in terrain and forest, with equipment, on the move;
- to encode the map grids;
- to conduct the tactical march by using a compass and a map, an aerial photography, or without
them.
2. Tactics:
- to react to the direct and indirect enemy fire;
- to break contact tactically with the enemy;
- personal camouflage;
- preparation of firing position (prone foxhole)
3. Weapons and shooting:
- to operate weapons;
- to execute live firing exercise;
- to execute throwing a hand grenade;
- set explosive device;
- call and corecting artilery indirect fire.

4. Other tasks:
- radio communication procedures;
- tie knots (to tie Rappel Harnesses using 6 meters rope);
- to demonstrate silent control signals;
- to pass through the obstacles (mine fields, improvised obstacles stretch and water obstacles);
- identify objects in place or moving;
- provide first aid;
- make a stretcher using items and tools of opportunity and transport the wounded;
Other additional tasks can always be used during the competition.
Requirements for participants – Section must consist of 8 infantry soldiers: squad leader, second
in command, machine-gunner, assistant of machine-gunner, rifleman (sharp shooter), rifleman
(engineer), rifleman and paramedic.
Administration and logistics – Participants should bring to the competition:
- Full combat equipment;
- Body armor;
- 6 personal weapons, 2 pistols, 1 machine gun and 1 Sharp shooter weapon; 2 underbarrel
grenade launcher.
- Weapons – according to the listed occupations above:
Personal team weapons needs to have totally 60 rounds of live ammunition. (squad
leader, second in command, assistant of machine-gunner, rifleman (engineer), rifleman
and paramedic needs to have 10 rounds of live ammunition (6x10 rounds));
Machine-gunner needs to have 20 rounds of live ammunition;
Sharp shooter needs to have 5 rounds of live ammunition.
Squad leader, second in command – needs to have totally 20 rounds of live ammunition
for pistol (2X10 rounds);
- second in command, rifleman needs to have totally 2 smoke grenades for underbarrel
grenade launcher.
- Meal (ready-to-eat) for 3 days.
Accommodation – in tents.
Finances – national country responsibility.
