tional Commissions for UNESCO
11–13 May 2026 | Berlin, Germany
Dear Secretaries-General,
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the German Commission for UNESCO, I would be pleased to welcome
you and one fellow representative from your National Commission to the 10th Meeting
of the Informal Network of European National Commissions for UNESCO, which will
take place from 11 to 13 May 2026 in Berlin, Germany.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for representatives of European National
Commissions to exchange perspectives, strengthen cooperation and discuss shared
challenges, current developments and opportunities in the changing geopolitical con-
text.
The official programme of the meeting will begin on Monday, 11 May 2026. Partici-
pants who arrive early are warmly invited to join a guided tour of the Museumsinsel
World Heritage Site in Berlin on Sunday, 10 May at 4 pm.
The working sessions of the meeting will take place on 11 and 12 May at the Meliá Ho-
tel Berlin.
On Wednesday, 13 May, participants are invited to join an excursion to the Palaces
and Parks of Potsdam, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The excursion will take place in
the morning and early afternoon and is expected to conclude at approximately 3 pm.
For your accommodation, a limited number of rooms have been reserved at a prefer-
ential rate at the Meliá Hotel Berlin (meeting venue) and at the nearby INNSiDE Berlin

cover the costs of hosting and catering.
The preliminary agenda for the meeting is attached for your reference. We would like
to invite you to express your interest in giving a short input (5 minutes) about your
work and your experiences at any one of the “Food for Thought” sessions. We also
kindly ask you to volunteer to moderate one of the breakout sessions. We would very
much appreciate it if you could inform us at [email protected] by 10 April about
your contribution to the programme.
