Thank you for your email, and apologies for the delayed reply due to the Easter holiday.

I can confirm that our monthly figures include only establishments with 40 or more bed places, while the annual figures include establishments with 10 or more bed places.

We do not produce monthly estimates for establishments with 10–39 bed places; therefore, our practice in this area is not yet fully aligned with the regulation.

Dear Ms Keller,

My name is Aleksandr Michelson and I am a tourism adviser at Estonia’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. We are reviewing Estonia’s tourism legislation and would like to learn from Denmark’s approach to accommodation statistics, and where feasible consider similar practices in Estonia.

According to Statistics Denmark’s website, the survey is published monthly for establishments with 40+ bed places, and there is an annual census for 10–39 bed places.

Could you please confirm:

1. Do you produce any monthly estimates for 10–39 (or 10+) for Eurostat or internally? If yes, is there any grossing-up/model-based approach (e.g., based on a periodic survey), or only annual figures for that group?

2. If monthly data are 40+ only, how is this aligned with EU Regulation 692/2011?
