Dear Partners,
Dear Friends,
We would greatly appreciate it if you could circulate the following invitation among your colleagues and members to participate in a stakeholder consultation, which forms a key component of two major research initiatives supported by EIPA: the KNOW.THY.AI (Belgian Research Foundation - FNRS) and ALPINE (Action for Concerted Research Fund - Liège University) projects.
Research Goals
By developing interdisciplinary research at the intersection of procedural law, data science, and software engineering, the KNOW.THY.AI and ALPINE projects address a simple yet crucial procedural question concerning AI liability:
As AI technologies become increasingly non-deterministic, producing outputs that cannot be reasonably foreseen, how can, or should, procedural law support individuals in accessing evidence of potential harms suffered and in establishing a causal link between those harms and AI technologies?
To properly address this issue, we invite stakeholders - regulators, legal practitioners, academics, engineers, and judges - from EU Member States, as well as officials from the European Union (the European Commission and the Court of Justice of the European Union, CJEU) and the Council of Europe (including the European Court of Human Rights, ECtHR) to take part in this consultation.
Consultation Details
Please note that you will not be required to create an account. All responses are anonymous by default. You may save your answers and return to the questionnaire at your convenience before its final submission.
