Dear Ms de Groot,

It is with sincere regret that I must inform you that I will be unable to attend the special Court session on 29 October 2026, held on the occasion of the customary resignation. Although I

would very much have liked to join you for this special occasion, my current professional

commitments are particularly demanding and, regrettably, make it impossible for me to travel to The Hague.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for the fruitful cooperation and the pleasant and

productive interactions we have shared over the years, particularly during the meetings of the

Netw-ork of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union, as well as at

various conferences and international events.

I sincerely appreciate the friendly and constructive cooperation between the Supreme Court of Estonia and the Supreme Court of the Netherlands, which has provided one of our judges with the valuable opportunity to participate in an exchange programme at your Court through the

Network of Presidents and has enabled us to visit, exchange experiences, and engage in stimulating discussions on a range of topics of mutual interest.

Thank you once again for your unwavering commitment and I hope we will have the

opportunity to meet again at future events. I wish you all the very best in your future endeavours.
