PROPERTIES AND RECOMMENDED USAGE
Paint type EPOCOAT 21 HB is a two-component high build poly- amide cured fast drying epoxy primer. It meets with the Swedish standard SIS 18 52 05 for two-component paints.
Typical and recommended uses Recommended to use as a primer and intermediate coat foot steel surfaces in environmental classes C2-C4 and C5-I and C5-M. Suitable also for aluminium and galvanized surfaces. Recommended to be used on in- dustrial frames, pipe bridges, conveyors and supporting structures of process industry. Can also be coated with polyurethane paints. Epocoat 21 HB provides the op- portunity to extended recoating times.
Chemical resistance Used in recommended paint systems and correctly applied withstands water as well as occasional splashes and spillage of weak process chemicals.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Surface preparations All solid impurities that could prevent adhesion should be removed from the surfaces to be painted. Remove salts and other water soluble impurities using fresh wa- ter with brush, high pressure-, steam- or alkali clean- sing. Remove grease and oils by alkali-, emulsion- or solvent cleansing (SFS-en ISO 8504-3, SFS-EN ISO 12944-4). The surfaces should be rinsed carefully with fresh water after clensing. Old, painted surfaces, in which maximum overcoating interval has expired, addi- tional roughening with suitable method is recommen- ded. The place and time for the surface preparation should be chosen correctly, to avoid contamination and moistening of the treated surface before the paint application.
Steel surfaces Blast cleaning to minimum Sa 2½ (SFS-ISO 8501-1, SFS-EN ISO 8504-2).
Shop primed surfaces Damaged surfaces should be blast cleaned to minimum Sa 2½ (SFS-ISO 8501-2, SFS-EN ISO 12944-4).
Aluminium surfaces Remove grease and other contaminants. Sand swee- ping before painting improves adhesion.
Galvanized surfaces Remove grease, zinc salts and other impurities. Sand sweeping before painting improves adhesion. Thinning is recommended.

Top coat EPOCOAT 210, EPOTEX HB, NORMADUR HB, NOR- MADUR 50 HS, NORMADUR 65 HS, NORMADUR 90 HS, NOREPOX HS Note that 1-comp. products are not recommended.
Environmental conditions during application The surface should be dry and clean. During application and drying time the temperature of the paint, air and surface should be above +10 °C ans the relative humidi- ty below 80 %. The surface temperature should be min 3 °C above the dew point of the air.
Method of application Use high pressure airless spray or brush. Stir resin and cure separately and then mix both components tho- roughly. The mixing ratio is 4:1 (resin:cure) by volume. Thin only if needed (0-10 % thinner OH 17). High pres- sure airless spray with nozzle tip of 0,013”-0,018” ori- fice. Spray angle depending on the object to be painted. In order to ensure the best possible performance of the product, it is recommended that the paint is at room temperature before the application.
Storage and shelf life The product must be stored in original sealed contai- ners at temperatures from 5 °C to 30 °C. The storage conditions are to keep the containers in a dry, well venti- lated space away from source of heat and ignition. When stored as described above, the unopened com- ponent A will keep up to 3 years and unopened compo- nent B to 3 years from the date of manufacture. The manufacturing date found in the label is also the batch number of the paint.
Safety Please follow the environmental and safety instructions displayed on the container and Safety Data Sheet. Use under well ventilated conditions. Do not breathe or inha- le mist, use respirator mask. Avoid skin contact. Spilla- ge on the skin should immediately removed with suitab- le cleanser, soap or water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and if necessary seek medical advice.

FIREFILM A6 Water based intumescent coating Firefilm A6 Intumescent Basecoat is a water- based, white, thin film intumescent coating for the protection of internal structural steelwork. Resistance to fire up to R90. Firefilm A6 intumescent paint is solvent free and has one of the lowest VOC contents on the market: 0.5 g / l Firefilm A6 should be applied onto a clean, undamaged
and dry primed surface. The correct primer is used for galvanised steel (Consult
to Technical Department). The primer must be applied in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions. Firefilm A6 should only be applied when the air and
steel temperatures are between 5°C-40°C. Relative humidity should be below 80% for successful application. Steel surface temperature should be a minimum of 3°C above the dew point.
Ensure the steel is dry and free from contact with rain or condensation during the application and drying of Firefilm A6.
Firefilm A6 is supplied ready for use and must not be thinned but should be mechanically stirred prior to use.
Airless spray equipment: Maximum wet film thickness (WFT) of 1000 microns in a single spray coat comprising of several quick passes. Two layers can be applied the same day if the first one is dry, the temperature is above 20 ° C and the relative humidity is lower than 70%.
Operating Pressure: 2500 – 3000 psi (175 – 210 Kg/ cm 2 ).
Tip Size: 17-21 thou. Fan Angle: 20° - 40°. Hose diameter: 10 mm (3/8”) internal diameter. Hose length: Max. 60 metres.
Brush/roller application: For brush application use a “laying on” technique to avoid heavy brush marking. A short piled roller will produce a light textured finish. Maximum wet film per coat when applied using a brush or roller is 600 microns.

These are times for a typical mid-range humidity (50%)
and good air flow. Higher humidity, poor airflow or
overnight condensation will all lengthen these times.
Overcoat time consult with Technical Department. Do not over coat if the surface is not touch dry. Check web-flange joints. Once DFT’s have been achieved as specified, a compatible top coat can be applied. Ensure the Firefilm A6 is completely dry before applying top coat.

PROPERTIES AND RECOMMENDED USAGE
Paint type EPOCOAT 21 HB is a two-component high build poly- amide cured fast drying epoxy primer. It meets with the Swedish standard SIS 18 52 05 for two-component paints.
Typical and recommended uses Recommended to use as a primer and intermediate coat foot steel surfaces in environmental classes C2-C4 and C5-I and C5-M. Suitable also for aluminium and galvanized surfaces. Recommended to be used on in- dustrial frames, pipe bridges, conveyors and supporting structures of process industry. Can also be coated with polyurethane paints. Epocoat 21 HB provides the op- portunity to extended recoating times.
Chemical resistance Used in recommended paint systems and correctly applied withstands water as well as occasional splashes and spillage of weak process chemicals.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Surface preparations All solid impurities that could prevent adhesion should be removed from the surfaces to be painted. Remove salts and other water soluble impurities using fresh wa- ter with brush, high pressure-, steam- or alkali clean- sing. Remove grease and oils by alkali-, emulsion- or solvent cleansing (SFS-en ISO 8504-3, SFS-EN ISO 12944-4). The surfaces should be rinsed carefully with fresh water after clensing. Old, painted surfaces, in which maximum overcoating interval has expired, addi- tional roughening with suitable method is recommen- ded. The place and time for the surface preparation should be chosen correctly, to avoid contamination and moistening of the treated surface before the paint application.
Steel surfaces Blast cleaning to minimum Sa 2½ (SFS-ISO 8501-1, SFS-EN ISO 8504-2).
Shop primed surfaces Damaged surfaces should be blast cleaned to minimum Sa 2½ (SFS-ISO 8501-2, SFS-EN ISO 12944-4).
Aluminium surfaces Remove grease and other contaminants. Sand swee- ping before painting improves adhesion.
Galvanized surfaces Remove grease, zinc salts and other impurities. Sand sweeping before painting improves adhesion. Thinning is recommended.

Environmental conditions during application The surface should be dry and clean. During application and drying time the temperature of the paint, air and surface should be above +10 °C ans the relative humidi- ty below 80 %. The surface temperature should be min 3 °C above the dew point of the air.
Method of application Use high pressure airless spray or brush. Stir resin and cure separately and then mix both components tho- roughly. The mixing ratio is 4:1 (resin:cure) by volume. Thin only if needed (0-10 % thinner OH 17). High pres- sure airless spray with nozzle tip of 0,013”-0,018” ori- fice. Spray angle depending on the object to be painted. In order to ensure the best possible performance of the product, it is recommended that the paint is at room temperature before the application.
Storage and shelf life The product must be stored in original sealed contai- ners at temperatures from 5 °C to 30 °C. The storage conditions are to keep the containers in a dry, well venti- lated space away from source of heat and ignition. When stored as described above, the unopened com- ponent A will keep up to 3 years and unopened compo- nent B to 3 years from the date of manufacture. The manufacturing date found in the label is also the batch number of the paint.
Safety Please follow the environmental and safety instructions displayed on the container and Safety Data Sheet. Use under well ventilated conditions. Do not breathe or inha- le mist, use respirator mask. Avoid skin contact. Spilla- ge on the skin should immediately removed with suitab- le cleanser, soap or water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and if necessary seek medical advice.

FIREFILM A6 Water based intumescent coating Firefilm A6 Intumescent Basecoat is a water- based, white, thin film intumescent coating for the protection of internal structural steelwork. Resistance to fire up to R90. Firefilm A6 intumescent paint is solvent free and has one of the lowest VOC contents on the market: 0.5 g / l Firefilm A6 should be applied onto a clean, undamaged
and dry primed surface. The correct primer is used for galvanised steel (Consult
to Technical Department). The primer must be applied in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions. Firefilm A6 should only be applied when the air and
steel temperatures are between 5°C-40°C. Relative humidity should be below 80% for successful application. Steel surface temperature should be a minimum of 3°C above the dew point.
Ensure the steel is dry and free from contact with rain or condensation during the application and drying of Firefilm A6.
Firefilm A6 is supplied ready for use and must not be thinned but should be mechanically stirred prior to use.
Airless spray equipment: Maximum wet film thickness (WFT) of 1000 microns in a single spray coat comprising of several quick passes. Two layers can be applied the same day if the first one is dry, the temperature is above 20 ° C and the relative humidity is lower than 70%.
Operating Pressure: 2500 – 3000 psi (175 – 210 Kg/ cm 2 ).
Tip Size: 17-21 thou. Fan Angle: 20° - 40°. Hose diameter: 10 mm (3/8”) internal diameter. Hose length: Max. 60 metres.
Brush/roller application: For brush application use a “laying on” technique to avoid heavy brush marking. A short piled roller will produce a light textured finish. Maximum wet film per coat when applied using a brush or roller is 600 microns.

These are times for a typical mid-range humidity (50%)
and good air flow. Higher humidity, poor airflow or
overnight condensation will all lengthen these times.
Overcoat time consult with Technical Department. Do not over coat if the surface is not touch dry. Check web-flange joints. Once DFT’s have been achieved as specified, a compatible top coat can be applied. Ensure the Firefilm A6 is completely dry before applying top coat.
