On behalf of the Supreme Court of Estonia, please accept our gratitude for your kind words and
condolences following the untimely passing of our dear colleague Urmas Volens.
We deeply appreciate your remembrance of his visit to the Supreme Court of Ukraine in November 2023 and the professional exchanges he had with Ukrainian judges.
Our community has unexpectedly lost a distinguished lawyer and legal scholar. During his life - far too short, yet exceptionally dedicated - U. Volens made an invaluable contribution to the development of Estonia's legal order, serving as a high public official and Justice of the Supreme Court, as well as an attorney, lecturer, and judicial trainer.
